Kanadan väkirikkain kaupunki ja Ontarion provinssin pääkaupunki Toronto kuuluu 2,5 miljoonalla asukkaallaan myös koko Pohjois-Amerikan viiden suurimman asuinkeskuksen joukkoon. Kaupunkikuvassa näkyy monet erilaiset kulttuurit, sillä 1960-luvulla Kanadaan muutti paljon maahanmuuttajia. Yli puolet kaupungin asukkaista on syntynyt Kanadan ulkopuolella. Matkailijalle kaupunki tarjoaa monipuolisen mahdollisuuden eri asioiden näkemiseen ja kokemiseen. Teatterit, ostoskadut, Chinatown ja museot pitävät turistin kiireisenä. Urheilupuolta edustavat mm. Toronto Blue Jays -pesäpallojoukkue ja Toronto Maple Leafs -jääkiekkojoukkue. Kesäisin Torontossa voidaan nauttia varsin helteisestä säästä.
Lennot Helsingistä Toronto Pearson kansainväliselle lentoasemalle (IATA-koodi YYZ) tekevät yleensä yhden välilaskun jollakin Euroopan suurkentistä tai New Yorkissa. Lentoaika Euroopasta Torontoon on 8-9 tuntia.
